The decision on whether to buy or sell a home this Fall has become mired by more than the typical uncertainties that come with a transaction of this magnitude. Housing affordability, interest rates and the mortgage stress test were big newsmakers in 2018 and 2019, and are continuing to make headlines during this Fall's federal election campaign with lots of housing issues and policies being up for debate.

The power of community was evident at the 'Raise the Arches' Fundraising Social held Saturday October 19th as local Citizens gathered together at the Meridian Community Centre and demonstrated the groundswell of support that will raise the Pelham Arches once again.
 
The event was spearheaded by the Rotary Club of Fonthill and the Pelham Summerfest Committee and directed by 2018 Pelham Citizen of the Year Frank Adamson
 

In communities, people often learn from one another, whether it’s by spending time with family, friends or colleagues, or interacting with their neighbours, nearby farmers or local business owners. This is called social learning, which typically starts when people get together and share their knowledge, or, when knowledge is transferred from one person (a scientist, government agent, professional, or a peer, for example) to another. Social learning can also happen when we observe or listen to others.

Niagara Health’s launch this week of the Niagara Health Navigator digital platform is a significant step in revolutionizing the way patients connect to healthcare information and their care providers. 

Niagara Regional Council approved every-other-week garbage collection scenario effective fall 2020 at a Special Council Meeting on Oct. 17, 2019. The change will apply to garbage collection for all low-density residential properties (single home and properties with one to six units) and for those industrial, commercial and institutional and mixed-use properties located outside Designated Business Areas.
