Nothing is easy when you are dealing with dementia. Hair care is one of the many things that can become more difficult as things progress. Don't give up. Getting hair cleaned and well-groomed will make any person with special needs, including Alzheimer’s disease both look and feel better. This will also make their caregiver feel better too.

Back –Pack- 2 School is an initiative to help less fortunate children and their families have an equal start to the school year.  This summer, the Seaway Mall is asking the community to help donate pencils, paper, blinders, backpacks, lunch pails and any other school supplies, and drop them off at Customer Service between July 23 to August 24.

In light of the Ontario Government’s unexpected and anti-democratic announcement a week-and-a-half ago to cancel the Niagara Chair election this Fall, I filed my nomination in Pelham to become a Regional Councillor. I hope to win a seat on Council and to work together with other Councillors, residents and businesses across the peninsula to fix the Region’s integrity crisis and to create a better Niagara.

Thanks to investment from the Federal Gas Tax Fund, the Maple Street Culvert repair project received $172,249 in grants. The project, spanning from planning and design to the construction and completion, began in August 2017 and is set to be completed by the end of September this year.

Chef David Levar's cullinary career started in the Muskokas in the late 1990’s working at restaurants and resorts such as Muskoka sands, Port Carling Country Club, Sherwood Inn and Rocky Crest Golf.

He later moved to Halifax to be part of the up and coming culinary scene working first at FID restaurant and then moving on to Seven Restaurant and Wine Bar. It was here that Chef David  formed a friend and mentorship under Terry Vassallo, a prominent figure in the East Coast culinary world.   

Based on an investigation and report by St. Catharines Standard reporters today, Mayor Dave Augustyn has filed a complaint asking the Ontario Ombudsman to investigate the 2016 hiring of current CAO and intends to ask questions of the current Chair during tonight’s Council meeting. He is also calling for an Human Resources audit of management employees hired under the current CAO and Chair.

Connect4Kids will have a nonprofit table at this week's Farmers market in Pelham.  They will be selling Guatemalan beaded jewelry for fundraising, encouraging community connections, and having the kids interacting with community to explain what Connect4Kids is all about. The goal of this dynamic and energetic new kids’ organization is to develop innovative future agents of social change!
