At our weekly morning meeting, Rotary Club of Fonthill enjoyed a presentation from Hamilton Rotarian, Leo Johnson. Leo was born in Liberia and spent 8 years in a refugee camp, separated from his family. He tells us he was fortunate to be accepted by Canada and settled directly in Hamilton, attending McMaster and earning a degree in Political Science.

The Pelham Art Association’s “Members’ June Exhibition” is on display June 1 - 27, showing paintings in a variety of styles, mediums, and sizes. From animals and florals to figurative and non-objective abstracts, many have been worked on during classes instructed by Gloria Kingma, of Dunnville, while others were completed by the artists themselves. The Pelham Art Association encourages artistic development through the spring and fall exhibitions, with adult students of all levels displaying their works of art. 

Parenting is never an easy job – and, unfortunately, it can be especially difficult if you’re doing it on your own. As a single parent, you face many challenges, not the least of which are the financial ones. But the suggestions below, may help make life easier – for you and your children.

Toss shrimp with marinade. Grill on medium-high heat 3 to 5 min., turning occasionally, until cooked through ( internal temperature reaches 165°F /74°C). Remove from grill.

For many years, Natasha Wells has been giving her time to encourage and support the youth of Pelham, especially when sports are involved. She has coached for Pelham Soccer, run the sports activities at Agape Valley's summer camps and been a team mentor for a local robotics team. Natasha is now looking to use her passion for people and athletics in her post secondary eduction, in pursuit of a BA Honours degree in Kinesiology. But she needs your help!
