It was in facing health issues and needing to change my diet that I came across the lack of healthy, easy to prepare meals in the market. I am totally not a cook and prefer to spend my time working on our horse farm then in the kitchen so it was (and still is) a challenge to make the changes to my diet.
I came across crock pot freezer meals and thought they were a great way to prepare meals without hours in the kitchen and it would be ready when we came in late from the barn each night (and I just might not burn it! . However, most of the recipes were not very healthy or were just meat which still required us to cook to make it a complete meal (and by “us” I mean my husband – did I mention, I’m not a cook ).
So this is where I thought if I was struggling to find healthy, complete meals that were easy to cook then others might be too! So, Crockin’ Cowgirl was formed and the research began! Since I am not a cook there was (and is) a lot of research and trial and error – which my husband has enjoyed being my taste tester ;) I did a small launch of our first menu in February 2016 and received great feedback! In April 2016 I was excited to start working with Maryann Wallace, a professional chef and we created a new menu to launch in June 2016.
I am committed to creating delicious meals that are healthy with no additives, just REAL food that is easy to cook and enjoy at home! I welcome your feedback at any time and look forward to the journey Crockin’ Cowgirl takes us on!
