Pelham Community Food Drive

Pelham Community Food Drive

Saturday, December 5, 2015 -
09:30 to 16:00

As the season of giving quickly approaches, plans for the 25th annual Pelham Community Food Drive are well underway.

As part of the Christmas in Pelham weekend events, the food drive will take place on Saturday, December 5th starting at 9:30 am.  Residents in the urban areas of Pelham are asked to put out non-perishable food on their porch. Volunteers will fan out from both the Fenwick and Fonthill Lions halls and pick food up door to door. If residents wish to make a monetary donation which will go to Pelham Cares, organizers ask that cash or cheques made payable to Pelham Cares be placed in a sealed envelope and given to the volunteer.

For those living in the rural areas of Pelham, or those residents unable to donate the day of the drive, food can be dropped off on or after December 5th at the following locations: Century 21 Today Realty, Clare's Cycle and Sports, Meridian Credit Union, North Pelham Avondale, Star Tile Centre, and at the Pelham Cares office.

Anyone wishing to volunteer with the door to door collection of food are asked to contact Gerry Berkhout, Pelham Community Food Drive Coordinator, at 905-892-6988 or galves@cogeco.ca. Volunteers wishing to assist Pelham Cares with sorting, boxing and transporting food are asked to contact Pelham Cares at 905-892-5300 or info@pelhamcares.org

The Pelham Cares office, at its new location on Hwy 20 (the former Wine Garden), will be open from 9:30 am – 4:00 pm on Dec 5th.  For more information contact Pelham Cares at 905-892-5300.
