The Garden City Comedy Festival road show returns with a second installment of "Comedy Night in Pelham!" After a successful sold out inaugural event, we are proudly bringing the one and only Jeff Leeson to the Meridian Communtiy Centre!

Get your baskets ready, Pelham’s annual Easter Eggstravaganza is just around the corner. Residents are asked to take special note of the location change to this year’s event, now taking place at Centennial Park in Fenwick. The Easter egg hunt will begin at 11 a.m. sharp for all age groups. A bouncy house will be operating from 10:30 a.m. – noon and the Pelham Fire Department will bring a fire truck down to the park.

This quilt, made by a local resident, will be made up of 15 iconic symbols that represent Canada. Residents are encouraged to choose a symbol that that they feel most connected with. The Home Alone Safety for Kids program helps children and their families get ready for their child's first steps towards independence and being home without adult supervision. Canboro Road in downtown Fenwick will come alive on Saturday, August 19, when the Town of Pelham hosts a Green Street Challenge, swapping the road’s usual asphalt for grass and creating a temporary park in the heart of the village.
By transforming the street into a pop-up park, the Green Street Challenge creates an opportunity for children and families to play outside and enjoy all the benefits that community green spaces have to offer! Communities all across Canada have been chosen to participate in this initiative managed by Come Alive Outside to promote the importance of outdoor, unstructured play. The Green Street challenge offers a way to celebrate outdoor play and green spaces as essential ingredients to the well being of our society.

2017 Marks the 150th Birthday of Canada!
In commemoration of this historical year, the Town of Pelham will be working with the Canada 150 Mosaic Mural team, which is composed of three Canadian artists. The Mosaic Mural team has launched a two-year project involving all of Canada’s territories and provinces. This project will result in over 80,000 paintings and 150 individual murals that when united will form one gigantic mural mosaic. The goal is that by July, 2017 150 Murals will be created in 150 Communities across Canada!
On Saturday, February 11th, the Town of Pelham will be hosting an instructor-led, Valentine’s themed Ballroom Dance Social from 7:00-10:00pm at Old Pelham Town Hall! Tickets are now available at Town Hall, 20 Pelham Town Square, Fonthill, for only $10.00. Complementary snacks, coffee, tea & water will be available, along with a chance to win awesome door prizes!

The Fighting Days performance: On Friday, November 11th at Old Pelham Town Hall, celebrate the 100th anniversary of a woman’s right to vote by attending this play that follows the real life story of two Canadian women as they face the challenges of war, conscription, and the right to vote in 1910-1917.

Pelham celebrated the launch of our Healthy Kids Community Challenge this weekend at Isaac Riehl Memorial Skate Park. The Healthy Kids Community Challenge combines a community-based approach with centralized provincial supports to help communities develop and implement policies, programs and environmental supports that enable one common outcome: healthy children.
T.O.P. is a program designed to help youth ages 9 to 12 build the skills and confidence necessary to prepare healthy and tasty recipes emphasizing vegetables and fruit. Along with recipe preparation, youth are taught basic kitchen safety and healthy eating principles over the course of the one week day camp.
Getting the word out about all the great programs and activities to its Town of Pelham residents is important. We are happy to report that we will have weekly postings from the Town of Pelham’s Culture & Wellness Programmer Julie Cook.

Focusing on skills, balance and style, skateboarders will have 2 ½ hours of instruction, 3 days per week. Campers will be placed in groups based on age and ability level. Whether you are a true beginner or working on improving your skating, you will enjoy what this camp offers. This camp includes Bissell's on Tuesday and Thursday day trip. Helmet and pads are required.

This program provides campers with an interactive opportunity to learn fire safety and gain insight into the career of a firefighter and their daily routine. Led by volunteer firefighters and camp staff, this is hands on learning for campers including: hose operation, search and rescue, fire extinguishers, ropes and knots, ground and aerial ladders, first aid, CPR and extrication. This program encourages campers to work together, instilling team spirit and leadership skills.
