By transforming the street into a pop-up park , the Green Street Challenge creates an opportunity for children and families to play outside and enjoy all the benefits that community green spaces have to offer! Communities all across Canada have been chosen to participate in this initiative managed by Come Alive Outside to promote the importance of outdoor, unstructured play. The Green Street challenge offers a way to celebrate outdoor play and green spaces as essential ingredients to the well being of our society.
The Town of Pelham’s Recreation, Culture & Wellness Department is excited to announce that we are offering a FREE Skate Park Program for Kids this summer!! Children of all skill level are invited to join us at Marlene Stewart Streit Park for skateboard lessons led by highly qualified male and female instructors.
On Thursday, May 25, the Farmers' Market will begin its free Kids Can Grow program. With the help of our local farmers and volunteers, children and youth (12&under) will have a chance to grow their own produce. While quantities last, 120 spots available.
Celebrate Canada’s 150th with a Heritage Tea Party at Old Pelham Town Hall! The event will take place on Mother’s Day, Sunday May 14, with two seating options available: 12:30pm or 3:00pm. Tickets are available for purchase at Town Hall, 20 Pelham Town Square, or Nature’s Corner Bakery & Café for $15.00.
The Home Alone Safety for Kids program helps children and their families get ready for their child’s first steps towards independence and being without adult supervision. This safety program is ideally suited for children ages 9-12 years old.
When participants see a Zumba class in action, they can't wait to give it a try. Zumba classes feature exotic rhythms set to high-energy Latin and international beats. Before participants know it, they're getting fit and their energy levels are soaring! There's no other fitness class like a Zumba® Fitness Class. It's easy to do, effective and totally exhilarating.
Focusing on skills, balance and style, skateboarders will have 2 ½ hours of instruction, 3 days per week. Campers will be placed in groups based on age and ability level. Whether you are a true beginner or working on improving your skating, you will enjoy what this camp offers. This camp includes Bissell's on Tuesday and Thursday day trip. Helmet and pads are required.
Community members are invited to Pelham’s Healthy Kids Community Challenge Launch Day on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Marlene Stewart Streit Park in Fonthill from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm to learn more about our free summer programs.
