The Town of Pelham is located just 30 minutes west of Niagara Falls quietly nestled into a hillside known as the Fonthill Kame.  Created by the retreating glaciers of the last ice age this distinctive geological feature rises some 75 m (246 ft) above the surrounding land and boasts the highest elevation in the Niagara Region. On a clear day, the tall buildings of Niagara Falls and Toronto are clearly visible.

Pelham is abundant with babbling brooks, scenic country roads, outstanding cycling routes,  unique farm experiences, specialty shopping boutiques and culinary destinations.  Natural beauty abounds all year around, with spectacular displays of spring blossoms and autumn colouring.

In 1970, the Town of Pelham was created to unify five historical communities: Fonthill, Ridgeville, Effingham, North Pelham and Fenwick into a single blossoming town covering 126.42 square kilometres.

CYCLING: Cyclist Steve Bauer is one of Pelham's great internationally-renowned athletes. It was the hills of Pelham that prepared Steve for his career in the sport of road cycling, during which he wore the prestigious yellow jersey 14 times over two Tour de France competitions, and won a silver medal at the 1984 Summer Olympics. 

FARMS & LOCAL FOOD: Experience the wide scope of the agricultural heritage in Pelham. From unique horticulture products to maple syrup and honey, organic produce, farm stands, llamas and popcorn growers, Pelham is rich in local food diversity.

GOLF: Marlene Stewart-Streit, Canada’s most successful amateur female golfer, learned her skills at the Lookout Point Golf Club in Fonthill. The Town of Pelham is home to several excellent golf courses that will challenge players ranging from new to the most experienced.
