Pelham Country and Towns Bicycling Route:

This Niagara Greenbelt cycling route begins at the Rockway Community Centre and takes cyclists through Pelham to visit the towns of Fenwick, Ridgeville, Fonthill and Pelham.  Cyclists will find themselves close to culinary destinations in Fonthill, including the Pelham Farmers' Market, which is seasonal, as well as historic sites in Fenwick and Ridgeville.  The route returns North to Rockway Conservation Area, the starting point of this tour.

Lots of Short Hills Bicycling Route:

This cycling route will take you through scenic back roads on top of the Niagara Escarpment. A mixture of farming and natural areas are scattered throughout the landscape amongst valleys that were once part of a system of rivers that formed the Twelve Mile Creek. Further along the route, cyclists will find themselves near the top of the Fonthill Kame and close to the Lookout Point Golf Club, which is the highest point in the escarpment and which provides a view of Lake Ontario and the Niagara River on clear days.

Niagara Freewheelers Bicycle Touring Club

A large variety of Pelham cycling trails are available on the Niagara Freewheeler’s Website via download. Many featured trails highlight area attractions including: “The Comfort Maple: Canada’s oldest sugar maple tree”, “Agape Valley for Pancakes” and “Fonthill to the Hills of Efffingham"

The Steve Bauer Trail

This trail system winds through various subdivisions of Fonthill offering several kid-friendly cycling stretches along its 6 km length, especially the rail-trail section which runs and runs southward from Regional Road 20 past Pelham Town Square (parallel to Station Street) then continues through fields and forest all the way south to the Welland border.  Use the bike trails in your next visit to Fonthill, taking in the Pelham Farmers' Market, the weekly summer evening bandshell concerts in Pelham Town Square, the parks and playgrounds, and the many wonderful Pelham local eateries.

Greater Niagara Cycle Route:

The Town of Pelham can be easily accessed as a side trip by exiting the Greater Niagara Circle Route at Welland via the Stop 19 Trail, or at Thorold via the NS&T Fonthill Spur (north of Regional Road 20).

Cycle and Stay Niagara:

Cycle and Stay Niagara is a network of fantastic "cycle-friendly" Bed & Breakfasts throughout the Niagara Region all located along the Greater Niagara Circle Route. Secure lockup for bikes provided at each location and there is luggage transfer available between the accommodations listed.

We provide a fun, encourgaging environment for women and girls of all ages and abilities to get on their bikes and to challenge themselves to grow within the sport of cycling. A lot of our rides take place in and around Pelham, many in Short Hills Provincial Park, and quite a few of our members - myself included - are from Fonthill and Fenwick.

St. Catharines Cycling Club Ltd.:

www.stcatharinescc.com

The St. Catharines Cycling Club was founded in 1971 by a group of local cyclist with considerable racing experience. The purpose of the club was to promote bicycle racing, to develop young riders and to serve as a focal point for cyclists interested in bicycle racing. The club has been one of the most successful clubs in Canada and has helped produce Provincial, National and World Champion cyclists.

While the St. Catharines Cycling Club's history and ongoing focus is in road racing, many present members are involved in mountain bike racing, cyclocross and triathlons. Other members are recreational cyclists who like to push themselves to go a little faster. As a club member, you will have access to training rides, club races, time trials and several CCA certified coaches. You will also receive newsletters, social events, discounts at some local bike stores and a supportive environment in which to progress.
