WINTER

 

January-March: Maple Syrup Camp Activities

White Meadow Farms :Surrounded by the gracious hills of the Effingham Valley, White Meadows Farms has been producing Maple Syrup and Maple Syrup products since 1991. With over 5,000 trees tapped in 2009 there is always plenty of syrup available year round in our Maple Sweet Shop. Beginning on weekends in January visit our Maple Lodge for all day breakfast from 8:30am -3:30pm. sugar Bush tours begin mid February. New for 2010 FREE skaing and tobogganing beside the Maple Lodge. Don't forget to bring along your skates and toboggan. (weather pending).

Agape Valley a 57-hectare recreational and farm property that hosts a summer day camp for children, seasonal family activities and private group rentals. Agape Valley is a working farm that harvests maple syrup and honey. Open Saturdays in March and every day during the March Break. School and group tours are offered during Maple Syrup Days each March.It is owned and managed by Niagara Shorthills Christian Ministries, an autonomous, evangelical, faith ministry.

SPRING

Easter:

EGGstravaganza:Every Easter, the Town of Pelham and participating businesses and community groups host an annual EGGstravaganza at Marlene Stewart Streit Park. Kids bring their own baskets or bags to collect eggs, and a camera for photos with the Easter Bunny.

 



April:

Fonthill Home and Leisure Show:The Fonthill Kinsmen have been hosting this hugely popular event at the Pelham Arena during the last week-end in April for the past 16 years. With low admission prices, a wide variety of exhibitors and surprisingly affordable booth rental rates, this consistently sold out exhibition has become a local favourite with both the public and vendors alike. May:

Mother’s Day Weekend May 11 - 13, 2012

Pelham Art Festival:

The Pelham Art Festival is the premiere spring art exhibition in Southern Ontario. Over 65 juried artists with works ranging from original paintings in oil and pastel , wood carving, pottery, glass and jewellery exhibit. There is something for every taste and every budget.

This year’s raffle features a fused glass platter by Joe Speck and a watercolour painting “Rock[port Maine” by Michael McMahon. Tickets available at the Festival.

Proceeds to benefit Fonthill and Fenwick Maple Acre Libraries. To date, over $340,000 has been donated to benefit our Pelham Libraries and Community Arts Projects.

EVENT SCHEDULE: Mother’s Day Weekend May 11 - 13, 2012

Gala Opening Evening -Friday

The Festival's preview night and Gala opening is Friday, May 11th from 7 to 10 p.m.

Preview night allows you the first opportunity to purchase your favourite piece of artwork. You will also be entertained by live music and enjoy excellent refreshments and a cash wine bar. 

Saturday & Sunday - Mother's Day

The Art Festival continues Saturday and Sunday, May 12th and 13th from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with live entertainment. Remember that Sunday is Mother's Day. Invite your Mother for a stroll through delightful works of art and stop by our Salvador Deli cafe for light lunch.

Admission & Ticket Information

Weekend Passes - $10.00

Gala Opening Evening - $8.00 includes Live Entertainment and light refreshments with Cash Wine Bar.

Daily Admission - $5.00

Free admission for children under 10

  • 6:30 pm - Carnival Parade: Begins at Bethany Christian Church, goes north on Balfour St, west on Canboro Rd, south on Church St to Centennial Park.

Saturday

  • 2 pm - Plant Auction
  • 2 pm – 4 pm - Chili Cook Off With Local Politicians and Fenwick Flossie
  • 10 pm – Fireworks

Sunday

  • 2 pm - Cow Plop Lottery Draw (or When Bessie Co-operates)

SUMMER

 

Pelham Farmer’s Market: (seasonal) May – October; Located in Town Hall municipal parking lot; Hours: Every Thursday 4:30 p.m. to dusk

June-August:

Fonthill Bandshell Summer Concert Series: Held weekly, each Thursday evening between mid-June and Labour Day. Concerts are held in the Fonthill Bandshell adjacent to the Pelham Farmer's Market in  Pelham Town Square starting at 7pm.

The 8th Annual Short Hills Fire and Rescue Strawberry Festival: Family fun with kids' games, bouncy castle, face painting, prizes, draws, pony rides, petting zoo, live music, and of course strawberry shortcake as well as beef on a bun and other snacks. Held Sat. June 19, 2010, White Meadows Farms, 2519 Effingham St.

 



July:

       Biketoberfest® Tenth Anniversary            

September 15, 2012

9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

The Fabulous Fenwick Lions Present Biketoberfest® Niagara’s premier motorcycle event.

The event gets rolling on Friday evening with the “Ride of the Flags”, beginning

at The Original Clare’s Motorcycles on Highway 20 at Maple St.

 

Activities on Saturday begin with breakfast at 9:00 and include motorcycle displays, show and shine, clothing and parts vendors, swap meet, great food and beverages and live entertainment.

At 6 p.m. our feature: Raffle for 2012 Harley-Davidson® CVO™ Streetglide -  Value $40,687
